Kisah Majlis Perkahwinan Berlainan Budaya
Monday, November 10, 2008 14:32Perancangan majlis perkahwinan yang melibatkan 2 budaya berbeza sudah semestinya tidak sama daripada perancangan majlis perkahwinan biasa. Kedua-dua pihak perlu memahami dan meneliti asas budaya masing-masing. Tujuannya adalah supaya pengantin tak terkejut beruk macam cerita kawan saya ni.
Hehe..kisahnya begini,
Seorang sahabat saya daripada Indonesia (yg berasal daripada salah satu pekan kecil di sumatera) bercerita; dia sama sekali tidak dapat melupakan kejutan yang diterima pada hari persandingan beliau.
Selepas dia bangun pada pagi tersebut, macam biasalah. Mestilah nak bersiram kan? Tapi tiba-tiba, ibunya datang dan tidak membenarkan dia mandi! Ha??Tak boleh mandi??? (waduhh!! kesian…) Tapi itulah pantang larang mereka. Selepas itu, beliau disolekkan sebagaimana pengantin biasa (meskipun terpaksa menahan kebusukan badan sendiri), tapi majlis tetap perlu diteruskan.
Tidak cukup dengan pantang larang pertama tadi, kawan saya juga dipaksa menggendong seekor ayam sewaktu diarak ke rumah suami (alahai…sadis betul). Tapi, tradisi inilah yang mungkin dianggap “penyeri” majlis bagi masyakat mereka. So, nak tak nak kena buat ler.
Sampai di rumah suami, dia dah rasa rimas semacam. Dengan bau ayam nya, bau badan sendiri lagi..Tapi nak buat cemana, kat rumah belah suami mungkin adatnya berbeza, maka dia tak disuruh mandi pulak.
Majlis terus berlangsung mengikut budaya keluarga suami. Tanpa mengendahkan pengantin perempuan yang tidak dapat mandi pagi tadi. Pengantin tetap terus kena menjalankan tugasnya, senyum, senyum dan senyum kepada semua orang.
Akhirnya, kawan saya tak dapat mandi selama satu hari. Masa hari kawin plak tu.
Ha-ha, itulah uniknya budaya dalam majlis perkahwinan ini. Kadang-kadang, kita sebagai orang luar nampak ia sebagai pelik. Tapi, majlis macam tu lah yang paling happening di mata masyarakat di situ.
Moral of the story: Hormati adat budaya orang lain dalam majlis perkahwinan. Setiap orang ada rasional tersendiri mengapa budaya sebegitu diadakan. ~ Kecuali~jika ia melanggar syara’. Itu lain cerita daa.
